Technical and creative
I became interested in digital marketing at the start of the internet boom when companies and brands began to take note of the internet. In 1998 I taught myself HTML from a book and started to hand-code websites using Macromedia Dreamweaver to make the process easier. I later built upon my knowledge by learning CSS and the PHP programming language.
Passion for digital marketing
This knowledge gave me the foundation to be able to work on projects as a consultant and later on as senior consultant troubleshooting and managing teams. My passion for digital marketing spurred me to learn more technical aspects of digital marketing and combined with my creativity it really set me apart from many other marketers as I was able to carefully oversee and contribute directly to the overall digital marketing strategy and building of websites to promote products and services. This experience has allowed me to work on multiple and diverse projects both directly and through agencies as well as with my own digital marketing agency.
Sharing knowledge
With the desire to share my knowledge and experience I have also been involved in workshops and seminars focused on various aspects of digital marketing as a speaker and lecturer.
